Jeans Length Shortening

Jeans are shortened according to your required inseam or marked length. The finished hem is stitched neatly using closely matched denim thread.

Original Hem Alteration

The original factory hem is carefully removed and reattached after shortening. This helps preserve the jeans’ original washed, distressed or faded finish.

Standard Denim Hemming

A fresh hem is created using durable stitching and thread that closely matches the original colour and construction.

Waist Adjustment

Loose jeans can be taken in at the waist for a secure fit. Depending on the garment construction, adjustments may be completed from the back or side seams while preserving the belt loops and original shape.

Leg Tapering

The leg width can be reduced from the thigh, knee or lower leg to create a slimmer and more balanced silhouette.

Trouser Shortening

We also shorten formal trousers, casual trousers, chinos and denim pants with either a plain, cuffed or original-style finish.

Zip and Button Replacement

Damaged zips, buttons, hooks and fastening components can be repaired or replaced where suitable matching materials are available.

Seam and Pocket Repairs

How to Submit Measurements

You may provide:

Your required finished inseam in inches
The exact amount to shorten or reduce
Pins or chalk markings on the garment
A well-fitting garment as a measurement sample
Personal measurements taken during an appointment

For length alterations, wear the shoes you normally plan to use with the jeans when marking the required length.

The garment is inspected for fabric condition and construction.
Your measurements and required adjustments are confirmed.
The alteration method and estimated charges are shared.
The jeans are professionally altered and finished.
The completed garment undergoes a final quality check.
Pickup or delivery is arranged.

Important Information

Wash your jeans before providing measurements if shrinkage is expected.
Once excess fabric has been cut, the original length cannot be restored.
Thread and fabric colours will be matched as closely as possible.
Original hems may show a minor joining seam after reattachment.
Some alterations may be limited by pockets, rivets, embroidery, distressing or garment construction.
Completion time and final charges will be confirmed after inspection.
Heavily damaged garments may require additional reinforcement.
